How To Use Robot.txt Files To Feed Spiderbot?

It's a Thursday evening. You are looking at your website logs to determine where your hits are coming from. You notice you are getting a ton of 404 errors records for a robots.txt file.

You might not even know what a robots.txt file is, let alone why it is missing from your website. Let take a look at this mysterious file that seems to be missing and why it's important to have it.

Search engines like Google cruise the internet by sending out their spidering software. These are commonly known as spiderbots. The spiderbots visit websites all around the internet to include them in their index listings. The first thing they look for when they visit is a file called the robots.txt file. This file normally is found in the root directory of hosted website.

This file contains a set of rules that the spiders are programmed to obey based on standard protocol. These rules help the visiting spider determine what part of your website to include or to ignore all together.

The most common rule used in the robots.txt file is to deny the search engine spiders access to restricted areas of your website that you don't want them visiting and indexing for the whole internet to view.

These restricted areas normally contain your downloads, images, or a cgi-bin directory that are used only by your website visitors or for the normal daily operations of you website.

What A robots.txt file is not....

Keep in mind that a robots.txt file is not a method to keep your information secure and safe from prying eyes. It simply is used to lock visiting spiders from indexing areas of your website.

Note that using a robots.txt file does not speed up the process of search engines indexing and getting your website in their search directories. Also, a robots.txt file is not used to tell search engine spiders what to do, only what not to do.

Benefits of using a robots.txt file:

- If you have parts of your website that are very similar you can block them from being crawled to avoid being flagged as a spammer. This is especially useful if you have similar pages optimized for different website browsers or website connection speeds.

- You eliminate 404 errors for missing robots.txt from your server logs by using a robots.txt file. Just create a blank robots.txt file in a basic text file editing program and upload it to your root directory.

- Can be used to block search engine spiders from indexing part or all of your website saving valuable bandwidth

Creating A robots.xt

Creating a robots.txt file is not complicated but you should be sure to do it correctly. If your file contains incorrect rules it can completely block all spiders and prevent them from indexing your website.

You can create a robots.txt file using a simple text editing program like NotePad or you can generate a file automatically using several software programs or online website resources.
For more informations on how to manually creat robot.txt files check the links upper on these page or green box above.

ROBOTS:How Do Search Engine Spiders Work?

Some internet surfers still hold on to the mistaken belief that actual people visit each and every website and then input it for inclusion in the search engine's database. Imagine, if these were true! With billions of websites available on the internet and with a majority of these sites offering fresh content it will take thousands of people to achieve the tasks made by search engine spiders and robots - and even then they won't be as efficient or as thorough.
Search engine spiders and robots are pieces of code or software that have only one aim - seek content on the internet and within each and every individual web page out there. These tools have a very important role in how effectively search engines operate.

Search engine spiders and robots visit websites and get the necessary information that it needs to determine the nature and content of the website and then adds the data to the search engine's index. Search engine spiders and robots follow links from one website to another so that it can consistently and infinitely gather the necessary information. The ultimate goal of search engine spiders and robots is to compile a comprehensive and valuable database that can deliver the most relevant results to the search queries of visitors.

But how exactly do search engine spiders and robots work?

The whole process begins when a web page is sent to a search engine for submission. The submitted URL is added to the queue of websites that will be visited by the search engine spider. Submissions can be optional though because most spiders will be able to find the content in a web page if other websites link to the page. This is the reason why it is a good idea to build reciprocal links with other website. By enhancing the link popularity of your website and getting links from other sites that have the same topic as your website.

When the search engine spider robot visits the website, it checks if there is an existing robots.txt file. The file tells the robot which areas of the site are off limits to its probe - like certain directories that have no use for search engines. All search engine bots look for this text file so it is a good idea to put one even if it is blank.

The robots list and store all of the links found on a page and they follow each link to its destination website or page.

The robots then submit all of this information to the search engine, which in turn compiles the data received from all the bots and builds the search engine database. This part of the process already has the intervention of search engine engineers who write the algorithms employed in evaluating and scoring the information that the search engine bots compiled. The moment all of the information is added to the search engine database this information is already made available to search engine visitors who are making search queries in the search engine.

Travel Journal

When traveling, there is more down time than any of us would like to admit. Sitting in airports, bus station and hotels gives you plenty of time to write. An ideal time is just before hitting the sack as you have a quit moment to reflect on the good, the bad and the funny snippets of the day. Since everyday holds interesting little adventures, try to write at least once ever two days.

The writing itself need not be complicated. You are writing the journal for YOURSELF. Don’t worry about punctuation, grammar and so on. If you want to write paragraphs, then write paragraphs. If you want to just keep notes, then just keep notes. If you want to doodle, for the love of God go ahead and doodle. You will not be graded!

Although you are writing for yourself, there is one bit of information you should always write down. When you meet people while traveling, you tend to write down names, phone numbers and email addresses on thing such as napkins, maps and brochures. Much like socks in a dryer, these will mysterious disappear during your trip. If you keep a travel journal, you will be able to FIND the information when you return from you trip. Just whip open your travel journal, find the email address and you’ll have a friend for life.

Keeping a travel journal is incredibly simple. You just write whatever you want. As time passes, you’ll be happy you did.

Technology

It all started during hurricane Katrina.
It can be compared to Reality TV. There was a weird time during Hurricane
Katrina when Network News had to cover the hurricane via a user's blog because
that was the only live coverage available.

So that was like Reality TV only it was "Reality News". Not produced, just live
and put up. Basically the Network news or production news was unable to cover
the story as well as a person at the scene, hooked up to the Internet with a
webcam and a Blog.

This guy had awesome videos of the storm that he kept putting up on his website
and they kept showing them on CNN. So as you watched CNN, you were actually
watching someone's blog.

Instead of "Network News or produced news" this is news as it comes in. The
Internet was designed to keep working even during a nuclear disaster. Network
News doesn't have that kind of technical reliability.

This is a case of the old infrastructure not working, despite how much it cost.
A citizen journalist, with a webcam and an Internet connection had more access.

The question is, what if Network News had a source they could go to that had
the means for anyone to put up a news story immediately for access by the media?

What is available now is audio, video and text without uploading anything. All you
have to do is simply enter the URL for your MP3 audio or FLV video file and submit
your text. That's it!.

NewsMediaRelease.com replaces traditional press release services online,
which are prone to misuse because the information is held in a queue for 12-24
hours before release, whereas NewsMediaRelease.com is truly fresh, off the wire,
breaking news.

Instead of paying a "contribution" from $81 to $600 over and over,
the customer only has to pay one time for unlimited releases with audio, video,
social bookmarking and search engine optimization built in.

New Media Release company offers advanced distribution of Press Releases and
News Articles using advanced search engine optimization, audio, video and
social bookmarking. Customers pay one time for unlimited media releases.

distribution system Media Frenzy was the perfect blend, a PR and Technical
Knockout.

Keyword phrases can be "tagged" which highlights them for special attention via
Technorati. Links to bookmarking sites like Furl and Del.icio.us are also
available to increase popularity. The clearest, most efficient video on the
Internet can be included simply by pushing a button and filling in the URl plus
the height and width of the FLV video file. This is the introduction of Video
Tagging on the Internet.

Everything else is done for the customer by the Media Frenzy system. Google is
notified, RSS feeds are generated and pings to thousands of RSS feed sites are
done in just a few minutes, automatically.

Media enquiries are welcome.

THE DYNAMISM OF LIFE

As we all live in this dynamic and universal world, we are tempted to ask ourselves certain question about life itself. We are forced to belief in certain things that we dont understand and sometimes believing in the fact that "FATE" rules man. But the question is :How did man become man today? Taking from what charles darwin said "Man originated from unicellular cells into a multi- cellular cell "Taking the dynamism
and complexity of man should we belief such?should we belief in such? What does the bible say about this.It is clearly stated that "Man was created by a supreme being called "GOD".Truely there is a contradiction as taking into consideration that both account have some lapses. These makes it difficult for man to know which story is Genuine.
But the biblical account has more genuine facts to make us belief that man was created and that man didnt evolve.
Let us take the ungenuinity of the evolution theory into consideration.According to the evolution theory, mazn evolved from unicellular to multicellular cells the big question is "from where did this cell emanate from?". Again looking at the complexity of man and the brain to be precise. The complexity of the brain alone will make you argue, the fact that man evolved because we find out that our brain connections only is more than all the network connections in the world.
Again if they say man evolved, why dont organisms continue evolving into something else? Why dont the cat turn into a dog? This shows that the evolutin theory is a fallacy, confusing man and making him belief in what he shouldnt belief in.
Do not be deceived a cat cannot turn into a dog, because he doesnt has what it takes to be a dog,an ape cannot turn into a man because their thinking faculty differs. A cat is a cat and an ape is an ape- take my words .If so why dont they take apes into other planets and let them turn into men it is practically impossible. Some times ago, a group of scientist found a fossil whose date was far older than Darwin fossil record and it walked upright, this shows to us that the fossil which darwin must have used could have beign that of a man with an animel probaly they were fighting and the both died with dynamic nature of man.we can conclusively say that evolution is a false theory.
The bibles statement which truly agrees with science is the fact that, the rib of the man was used to create the woman biologist athest to this fact and there is a clear evidence to the genuinity of the biblical account.
If you think you were not created, ask yourself why you are ruled by forces you never see .This shows that something created and this thing rules us and this thing(He)makes things happen to us; the way he wishes and this is no other person than God and HE is "THE EYE BEHIND MANS EXISTENCE".

Heart Disease

Heart Disease
Heart disease, as the name implies, is an affliction of heart and its associated systems. Around 13 million people suffer from coronary heart disease, with 479,000 people dying from it each year. Congenital heart disease affects 8-10 out of 1,000 children every year in America.Heart disease has branched into different types, each disease having its own causal factors, symptoms, treatment procedures, and prevention measures. However, still there are certain similarities in the symptoms and diagnoses among the numerous types of heart diseases.Different types of heart diseases include coronary heart disease, congenital heart disease, heart valve disease, heart muscle disease, aorta disease, pericardial disease, heart failure, and many, many more. Some common symptoms of heart disease include chest discomfort, pain in different parts of the body, shortness of breath, nausea, coldness, vomiting, unexplained severe headaches, sweating, anxiousness, heartburn, swelling in limbs and tissues, and many more.Sometimes, there might not be any symptoms of heart disease. Hence, it is called a silent killer also.Usually, diagnosis is possible through tests which are conducted especially for this purpose. Some tests include electrocardiography tests, which measures the electrical activity when the person is at rest; laboratory tests, which includes blood testing; nuclear imaging; ultrasound; radiological imaging; invasive tests, which involves the insertion of catheters into the heart’s blood vessels for closer examination; and many more.Heart disease prevention lies in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and keeping a good diet. One should be particularly careful if high cholesterol, diabetes, and other problems run in the family. Some heart diseases are triggered by these factors.Apart from this, medications are also available to keep blood pressure, diabetes, and other undesirable things in control. For those suffering from severe heart disease, surgery remains the ultimate remedy.Heart disease is a dangerous disease which can slowly strengthen its hold on people without their being even aware of it. One has to be particularly careful and recognize its symptoms, besides taking good care to prevent from being a victim.
Heart Disease - Recognizing The Warning Signs:Heart disease is the number one killer in the US. It far outranks cancer, accident, and even AIDS, which is almost always fatal. Of the different kinds of heart disease, coronary heart disease, the most preventable, is the worst killer, accounting for about half of all deaths from heart disease. And while men have traditionally been considered far more at risk for developing heart disease then women, women need to be concerned as well. Women are almost twelve toes more likely to die of heart-related problems than they are from breast cancer.Heart disease not only kills; it leaves its surviving victims disabled and adds billions of dollars each year to the cost of medical care in the US.Angina And Shortness Of BreathOne of the deadliest characteristics of heart disease is that it often remains hidden until it is severe enough to cause congestive heart failure or heart attack. Two ways in which people can equip themselves to fight heart disease are to familiarize themselves with its common symptoms, and if they have a family history of heart disease, to have regular heart checkups. The classic symptom of heart disease is angina, or tightness in the chest. Angina, however, can signal an actual heart attack as well as heart disease? In no event should it be ignored.Shortness of breath, while it often sccompanies heart disease, can be symptomatic of other conditions. Asthma, allergies, and anxiety attacks all lead to shortness of breath, but like heart disease, all of those conditions can be serious. Shortness of breath which lasts for more than a few seconds, or occurs on a regular basis, warrants prompt medical attention.Mitral Valve Prolapse Heart DiseaseMitral valve prolapse is a form of heart disease which can cause vertigo, ringing in the ears, and momentary blackouts. Mitral valve prolapse allows blood to reverse curse and “back up” into the arteries carrying blood to the heart. The decrease in the volume of blood within the heart means that the heart cannot pump sufficient blood to the brain. The momentary decrease in oxygen to the brain can cause people with mitral valve prolapse heart disease to become dizzy when the stand up, or have ringing in the ears and brief blackouts.Women often experience signs of heart disease different from those in men. Angina in women can feel like indigestion, or may produce a feeling of tightness in an area other than behind the breast one. Both heart disease and heart attacks present with the same symptoms, and at the first indication that you may have developed heart disease, you should seek medical help.
Are You Having A Heart Attack?Heart attacks come in all sizes, from minor to major, and the symptoms of a pending heart attack can be deceiving in many cases. Some symptoms of a pending heart attack may have been showing up for quite awhile and were ignored as something else.Pending heart attack symptoms mask themselves as indigestion, being overworked and tired all the time, and taking naps several times a day.During a real heart attack, you may feel feverish, have a nauseous sick feeling, shortness of breath, labored breathing, sweating, tingling in arms, chest pain, heaviness in the chest area like someone is pushing on your chest and various other indications.Your life may depend on you making the right decision within minutes, is what you are feeling a heart attack... as a quick response time in calling for help... 911... could be the determining factor that saves your life. Its better to be wrong, than to be right and not get help on the way ASAP!One of the major causes of a heart attack is the restriction of blood flow to the heart muscle, which causes any number of symptoms. But the bottom line is, how severe is your heart attack. That will in many ways determine what symptoms you experience. The more severy the blockage, the more severe the heart attack symptoms in most cases. The blockage may occure due to a blood clot, or material buildup inside the artery walls that breaks loose. Many hospitals are not fully equipted to deal with heart attack victims, and will transfer the patient by air to a hospital or medical center with a heart attack specialist who can determine how bad it was, and one who has the skill to repair the damage caused by the heart attack. The quicker the blood flow to the heart muscle is restored, the better your chance for a complete recovery from your heart attack.
How to Survive a Heart AttackMost heart attacks start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. Common symptoms of a heart attack are:- Chest pain that does not clear up after resting or taking angina medications. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.- A feeling of a crushing weight against the chest and profuse sweating.- Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.- Nausea, vomiting, and cold sweats.- A feeling of indigestion or heartburn.- Fainting.- A fear of impending death (angor animi).Other symptoms of a heart attack are:- Shortness of breath.- Dizziness, weakness, and fainting.- Abdominal pain.If you think you are having a heart attack get help immediately. Each year up to 460,000 people die of heart disease in an emergency department or before reaching hospital. That's up to 60% of cardiac deaths. The first 3-6 hours are critical. By getting help early you greatly increase your chances of survival and greatly lessen permanent damage to your heart.Take 1/4 tablet of aspirin and make sure that the emergency health providers know so that an additional dose isn't given. And tell the emergency health providers that you think you are having a heart attack.

Benefits Of Directory Submissions

Benefits Of Directory Submissions
Achieving good search engine visibility has become a necessity for every website today. Hundreds and thousands of businesses compete with one another in order to generate more and more business through their websites.
There are many ways by which a website can get high rankings in major search engines. One such important method is directory submission. Directory submission involves submitting a particular website in general and relevant web directories. Once a website is submitted it takes anywhere between 1 day to 3 months for the website link to be added into the directory.
Some of the popular web directories includes http://Dmoz.org, Yahoo directory etc.
Each directory organizes its contents by categories where all the related websites get listed. To ensure that your site gets added into the directory, one must submit it in the most appropriate category otherwise it can be rejected. A website once listed gets a one way link from the directory.
This free link helps the listed site in a lot of ways. Firstly, it provides a way for search engine spiders (also known as crawlers) to find the website and index it in their own database. As soon as a site is hosted, it must be submitted in web directories so that search engine robots can crawl it. Since these robots visit directories more often than other sites, probability remains high that your site will be indexed soon. You as the owner of the site does not have to submit your site to search engines, instead they themselves come and find your site. Thus, it helps in saving a webmaster’s time.
Indexing is crucial for every website that wish to achieve high rankings since it’s the first step for any site to ensure visibility in search engines. Secondly, a directory placement provides the extra benefit of getting relevant traffic to your website. Since people who are actively looking for new websites and portals often visit these web directories, chances remain high that such people may also visit your site and thus provide your site free traffic.
This traffic is important since it’s highly pertinent. These people might also turn out to be your customers, which will boost your sales in the long run. The most significant benefit of directory submission is increasing your link popularity, which simply is a measure of the quality and quantity of incoming links to your site.
Search engines like Google, yahoo and msn provides a lot of importance to links while evaluating the rankings of a site for a particular keyword. Google for example takes into account the PR (Page Rank) of the page along with the anchor text of the link while deciding the rankings for a keyword. Gaining incoming links from high PR directories is considered an essential activity of search engine optimization (SEO). In essence, directory submission is a central part of any SEO effort. Without submitting a site in relevant directories, one cannot hope to garner high rankings in search engines. Thus, one must definitely go for directory submissions since the time and effort is worth it.
